How do I request a social security disability hearing?

The second time your claim is denied, you have the right to request a hearing before an administrative law judge.  Your appeal must be made with sixty days (60) from the date you were denied.  You have the right to hire an attorney to represent you at the hearing. Currently, it can take more than one year to schedule a hearing, so I strongly encourage you to request your hearing as soon as possible.

At your hearing you will be able to fully explain your case to the judge.  It is important to prepare for the hearing and know what to expect.  It is also important for you to keep your medical records updated.  You will need medical evidence to support your claim for disability.
